    The Education Committee is constantly seeking out information related to our Gold prospecting goals. The committee recruits Guest Speakers to provide presentations at the monthly meetings, and occasionally make visits to club outings.  Subjects covered include:

         Geology                 Metal Detecting               Mineralogy

         Mining Industry      Meteorites                       Dowsing

                 Ghost Towns       Abandoned Mine Safety

    Support activities at the McCaw School of Mines and Heritage Museum.

    There is always room for members to participate in the activities of this committee. To get on the Education Committee contact committee chairman for information.

Club members participated in a Nevada Day Celebration at the E. W. Griffeth Elementary School on October 29, 2009.

Bill Durban from the Nevada Dept. of Minerals spoke to about 150 students about the importance of mining in Nevada and our members gave them a opportunity to pan for gold. Sam's Club provided lunch for the volunteers and teachers.

Members include Fred Zajac, Randy and Nancy Huffine, Carl and Marcia Richwine.
